We are a family of four. I'm Mama Mimz, aka Ashley. I have a great love for photography, crafting, baking and DIY. I run another blog called My Life As Mimz where I share recipes and a few DIY projects. Of course most of all, I have a great love for my family and raising my boys.
I'm fortunate to have a loving, hard working husband named Skubz, aka Steven. Honestly, I couldn't tell you how the nicknames came about, they just sort of stuck. Steven spends any little free time he can find playing or reading about sports. He's a fantastic daddy to his little boys and they adore him.
Our parenting style tends to lean more toward what some would call "Gentle Parenting" though we aren't a fan of labels around our house. We prefer to just do our research and make the best choices for our family.
Then we have Ivan, our first son. He was born in the winter of 2012. Since he was our first baby, we were a little scared. I can't tell now if it was him, or just us learning to be parents, but he seemed to be a very particular baby who struggled with the concept of sleeping through the night until about 9 months of age.
Along came Ezra, our second son. Ezra was born in the late spring of 2014, only 17 months after his big brother. He is still a newbie, but it would seem that he is a pretty relaxed little man. He will cry only when he is hungry, and has been sleeping two four hour stretches at night (please don't hate me!) Which has made the transition to two babies much easier.
I created this blog with the intention of documenting some of the harder, and the more rewarding, aspects of parenthood to look back on when my boys are past the age of wanting to spend time with me. Although it's sole purpose is for myself, I do hope that others will stumble on my tiny space in the big internet and find some kind of comfort or enjoyment out of reading about our journey.
